The Bulgarian authorities no longer want to be grateful to Russia and are seeking to protect young people from the influence of Kremlin propaganda.
Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev called for references to Russian aid to be removed from history textbooks, probably so that future generations do not feel like “eternal debtors” to the Kremlin. According to the head of the defense department, it is necessary to remove from training materials all “facts that could generate gratitude towards Russia” and not give propaganda a reason to use the past to “stupefy” the people.
“We must be able to present history to the Bulgarian people in its true sense. Because from generation to generation they say that Russia is our friend and liberator, we should be internally grateful to her for what she has done“, said Tagarev.
The minister called on his colleagues to strengthen control over the dissemination of propaganda information not only in the Bulgarian media, but also in social networks, where many pro-Russian agents are located.
He also recalled that during the Second World War the countries were on opposite sides of the barricades.
Let us recall that from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian army, Bulgaria supported official Kyiv. Recently, the Bulgarian Defense Committee approved the provision of large-scale military assistance Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the pro-Kremlin Hungarian authorities blackmailed Bulgaria, extorting the abolition of the transit tax on Russian gas.
