Completely overfired
The fire brigade arrived at the scene at around 8.20pm on Saturday evening. 20 minutes later, the home was completely engulfed in flames, according to duty manager Thomas Silva at the East 110 central office.
The temperature was too high for smoke divers to enter, and they had to wait until firefighters extinguished the flames.
They had to give up trying to search for the woman and ensure a controlled burn while preventing the fire from spreading.
