Lisa Rumbewas died on Sunday (14/1) early morning at around 03.00 WIT at Jayapura District Hospital. Throughout his life, the figure who was born in Biak, Papua, 43 years ago, has had many achievements in the field of sports.
Sports blood flows freely in the body of Raema Lisa Rumbewas, her full name. He is the son of Indonesia’s best bodybuilder Levi Rumbewas and Indonesian female lifter Ida Korwa, two pioneering figures in weightlifting on Earth of Cendrawasih.
During his career in the world of sports, Lisa Rumbewas has routinely made Indonesia proud. Including being a medal winner in three Olympic different.
Lisa Rumbewas’ first Olympic medal came at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. At that time, Lisa won silver in women’s weightlifting -48 kg.
Four years later, at the 2004 Athens Olympics, Lisa Rumbewas won another medal. Silver was again presented to Merah Putih in the women’s -53 kg weightlifting event.
Meanwhile, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Lisa Rumbewas won a bronze medal in women’s weightlifting -53 kg. The medal was awarded on December 3 2017 after athlete from Belarus Nastassia Novikava, who was initially in third place, was proven to have used doping and was stripped of her medal. Lisa also rose one position to third place.

For example, silver in the -53kg number at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships which at that time was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Also bronze at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan in the -48kg class.
Lisa Rumbewas was also recorded as being able to win medals in three different editions of the SEA Games. There was a bronze piece at the 2003 Hanoi SEA Games, silver at the 2005 Manila SEA Games, and gold at the 2009 Vientiane SEA Games.
The news that Lisa Rumbewas died suddenly made the Indonesian sports world mourn. One of the condolences was expressed by the General Chairman of KONI, Lieutenant General TNI, Retired Marciano Norman.
“As General Chair of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) and representing the sports achievement community, I express my condolences,” said Marciano Norman in a press release.
“Hopefully the late Lisa will find a noble place in the sight of God, the Most Merciful, and her services as a Sports Patriot will always be remembered, as well as motivating Indonesian Lifters to achieve world achievements,” he said.
