BLORA(TERASMEDIA.ID)-The Regent of Blora, H. Arief Rohman, accompanied by the Head of the Blora Health Office, Edy Widayat, carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) at Dr. Soetijono Blora following the increase in complaints suspected of being Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD), Friday (12/01/2024).

Blora Regent Arief Rohman immediately met several patients in the Emergency Room (IGD) and encouraged health workers at the local hospital to improve services to the community.

“Recently, the emergency room at RSUD dr. Soetijono Blora turned out to be filled with patients. Most patients complain of fever which leads to dengue fever. “For this reason, we ask doctors and health workers (health workers) to improve services, by working quickly, doing good work and not being long-winded,” asked the Regent.

Head of the Blora Health Office, Edy Widayat, said that not all of the patients who visited the Blora RSU emergency room were suffering from dengue fever. However, his party admitted that recently there had been an increase in dengue fever cases.

For this reason, he asked the public to be alert and maintain their health. It is known that for dengue fever cases in Blora during 2023, there were 266 cases, and of those cases, 12 of them died.

“For this reason, the Blora Health Service reminds residents to be alert to the attack of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD),” said Edy Widayat.

According to Edy, 10 of the 16 sub-districts in Blora have quite high cases of dengue fever, namely Blora District with 37 cases, Ngawen with 29 cases, Kunduran with 25 cases, Tunjungan District with 26 cases.

Furthermore, Cepu District had 23 cases, Randublatung 23 cases, Japah 17 cases, Bogorejo 12 cases, and Banjarejo District 12 cases.

“So far, the Health Department itself has always acted quickly when dengue cases were found in certain areas. “Like recently, as many as 90 houses in Tegalgunung Village, Blora Kota, were fogged after dengue cases were discovered,” explained Edy.

However, we are reminded that the fogging activity aims to control diseases, especially mosquitoes. Namely, it is only effective in killing adult mosquitoes, not mosquito larvae, eggs or larvae.

“In fact, what is most effective is that the public is encouraged to actively eradicate mosquito nests (PSN), by carrying out 3M plus. “Because the possibility of mosquito breeding will continue to increase, especially in the rainy season,” said Edy.

Apart from that, Edy continued, in an effort to prevent and control the spread of dengue fever in Blora, the Health Office has instructed all Community Health Centers in Blora to carry out a number of activities.

These include carrying out fogging or fumigation, including activating PSN, health education and periodic larval inspections. (Dul)
