Toyota India’s Joint Venture Representative Announces New Generation Solid-State Battery Car Production within a Couple of Years

The representative of the joint venture of the Japanese automotive giant Toyota in India has come up with an ambitious and loud announcement – within a couple of years, Toyota is going to deliver a car with new generation solid-state batteries to production, which has been awaited for a long time with huge hopes for growth. To avoid any misunderstandings, Toyota’s text in English is “in a couple years” and not “in a few years”, which clearly means a couple of years. Such information was disclosed during the summit by Vikram Gulati – he is the head of Toyota’s joint venture in India with the local car manufacturing company Kirloskar.

Toyota has previously made loud announcements related to the batteries of this new type of electric car, promising to demonstrate prototypes and more. The manufacturer also says that they managed to achieve a “scientific breakthrough”, promising a charge from 10 to 80% in 10 minutes and 1000 kilometers on a single charge. These are just words for now, but we hope that Toyota is really ready to move on to action.

In fact, Gulati promises even more – 1,200 kilometers on a single charge and high battery longevity. Toyota representatives have also talked about such a mileage reserve, although it was mentioned in the context of more expensive cars. This is one of the topics where it will be interesting to read statements from Toyota management, if they officially follow.
