Russia has again launched active attacks in the south in Ukraine, but now it is using not only Storm-Z units, but also marines and amphibious assaults, said the spokeswoman of the Joint Press Center of the Operational Command “South” Natalia Gumenyuk.
She suggests that the Russian army was waiting for the arrival of additional units, which is why there had previously been a relative lull on the front. “Today we see that they are returning to the level they roughly maintained before,” she said during the telethon, also quoted by the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
Gumenyuk explained that if before Russia carried out 10 to 13 assaults per day, then it reduced the level of attacks to 1-3 attacks. Enemy activity now reaches 9 attacks or more. The spokeswoman suggested that the military leadership of the Russian Federation set the task of the occupiers to break through the defenses in the south. “Obviously they’re tasked with breaching our defenses,” she pointed out.
