Citadele Bank IT System Improvements: Impact on Customer Payments and Services

The bank states that from midnight to midnight, improvements will be made to the information technology (IT) systems of the “Citadele” bank, therefore during this time customers will not be able to make payments in the internet bank and mobile app, but payment cards and ATMs will work as usual.

The bank also notes that if cash is deposited into the ATM, it will be available for payment of purchases with a payment card immediately, but the card transactions will be fully reflected in the customer’s accounts after the work is completed.

Customers of “Citadele” Bank will be able to pay for purchases in e-shops only with payment cards. On the other hand, merchants who accept payments in e-shops with “Klix” will have access to all payment methods, except “Citadele Digilink”.

Payments between “Citadele” bank accounts and to the accounts of other banks will not be available, including incoming payments.

Payment processing will resume on January 14.

The bank also mentions that both the mobile app and the internet bank will be available on Saturday, but they will not be able to make payments or issue loans. Other features will also be unavailable or limited.

It will be possible to fill out an application to become a customer of the bank on the mobile app, but applications will be processed after improvements are made. It will not be possible for legal entities to remotely apply to become a customer.
