Mayor Thierry LAVIT Presents Wishes and Honors Municipal Agents at Palais des Congrès

This Thursday, January 18 at 9:30 a.m., at the Palais des Congrès, Mayor Thierry LAVIT presented his Wishes to municipal agents, those of the Tourist Office and the CCAS.

Excerpt from the Speech: “It is full of positive energies that we will approach this new year 2024 alongside you. We, elected officials, would like to express our gratitude to you for the work carried out in the service of Lourdes in order to improve the daily life of the people of Lourdes. We work together to achieve our goals. We all want to add shine to our brotherly city. Together we are stronger, together we can and we must go further. Let’s move forward together, confident in the future, I know I can count on you and you count on me! Finally, before concluding these moments of wishes synonymous with happiness, I would like to express to you our attention to those who are going through difficult times and who particularly need our support, our comfort and our compassion. May 2024 bring them the courage and strength they need. Let us also spare a thought for our two agents who left too soon, I named Mr. Michel GALINDO and Mr. Patrick ROSSARD. I wish you a very happy new year 2024 and above all very good health! »

Then, accompanied by the Municipal Councilor responsible for Human Resources and social dialogue Christine CARRERE, he presented 6 out of 10 labor silver medals to the City agents and thanked 3 agents who were retiring in 2023, while the members from the office of the City Staff Assistance Committee offered a gift.

As a reminder, the Labor Medal is an honorary distinction. Its aim is to reward an employee’s length of service, the quality of their initiatives taken in the exercise of their profession or their efforts to acquire a better qualification. (Gold medal for 35 years of service, Vermeil medal for 30 years of service and Silver medal for 20 years of service.)

A total of 10 agents received the Long Service Medal this year (but 4 were absent with excuses). Note also a notable presentation of the Labor Medal to Christine MARTIN Head of the Communication Department (for 20 years of public service), although only arriving in 2022 in Lourdes, the Mayor was keen to highlight her quality work, her skills remarkable and his excellent relations with press correspondents…
