“I said yes to the expedition because I felt I had to, for myself,” says Tine Embrechts candidly. “When you have four children, two of which are still small, the first thing that comes into play is some kind of self-care. I feel that I really need more time for myself,” says Embrechts. “I am very social, love being with people and I really enjoy taking care of my family. But I haven’t felt very good in recent months,” said a very honest Tine.
“I felt completely overwhelmed in all areas. I only felt the urge to run away from everything and everyone. And I desperately need freedom and that is also something I am struggling with,” she continues. “As much as I love seeing my little ones, I was already standing at that playground about 15 and 18 years ago, pushing on that swing. At my worst moments I think: ‘f*ck, I’m going to be standing here on that swing for another five or six years’. While I feel like going to the other side of the world with my big boys, for example, and being a different kind of mother,” says the actress.
