Kylian Mbappe makes PSG and Real Madrid fidget

The future of Kylian Mbappe (25), who can theoretically leave Paris Saint-Germain for free this summer when his contract expires, is still up in the air. Meanwhile, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi (50) continues to spread the word about his superstar in his bid for another contract extension.
PSG? Real Madrid? Or maybe the Premier League? The rumors surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future have been raging non-stop for a few weeks now. Since January 1st, the French international has been allowed to negotiate freely with any club.
Mbappe continues to make Real tremble
It was actually heard from the Spanish media that Real Madrid wanted to give the Frenchman until mid-January to accept a supposedly final contract offer. Otherwise the Royals would withdraw from poker.
However, it currently looks like both scenarios will not come true. The 25-year-old probably won’t make a final decision about his future until mid-January. However, it does not appear that the club from the Spanish capital is withdrawing from the negotiations.

Al-Khelaifi is launching a negotiating offensive
PSG boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi is now stirring up new hope among PSG supporters that Mbappe will stay: “Of course I want Mbappe to stay, for me he is the best in the world and for me PSG is the best club for Kylian,” the Qatari told French broadcaster RMC. The offensive star is “the focus” of the project, the 50-year-old continued.
Al-Khelaifi also confirmed an agreement that Mbappe announced a week ago: “He has an agreement with me, as he said. There are no negotiations, but I think he is still young, he wants to win a lot of trophies and I do hope with us.”
The president did not want to be more specific on this matter, but explained that the player at PSG had “the best training ground and the best coach in the world.” The club boss then continued to diligently give arguments that, in his eyes, could persuade Mbappe to stay.
“He plays the Champions League every year and we are almost always at the top, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals… it’s our turn. Ligue 1 has changed a lot, it’s more complicated and more international,” Al-Khelaifi explained. However, these arguments also apply to Real Madrid and numerous Premier League clubs.
In the current season, Kylian Mbappe has already scored 25 goals in 24 competitive games. It will probably not be clear in the next few weeks which club he will be looking for in the summer.
