JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The relationship between the coalition of presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD is increasingly cordial.
Political observer and Director of Indonesian Political Parameters (PPI) Adi Prayitno believes that the intimate relationship between the two candidate pairs has two meanings, one of which is to secure seats in parliament.
According to Adi, the close relationship between the two candidate pairs could open the door to political communication that they will have after the 2024 presidential election, precisely when the division of power begins.
“It could be that this is a prologue or preamble to the doors of political communication that they will establish in the future after the presidential election, especially for parliamentary political interests. Apart from the 2024 election, apart from the presidential election, the issue of the composition of parliamentary forces will also be targeted by all political forces,” Adi told Kompas. .com, Thursday (11/1/2024) evening.
Adi also does not deny that there is the potential for a unification of forces in the second round of the presidential election.
He believes that the unity of the two candidate pairs will be a strong force both during the 2024 presidential election and after the presidential election.
“In the presidential election, for example, if there were two rounds, if camps 1 and 3 united they would become a powerful force. Likewise, when they unite in parliament they would become an equally formidable force,” said Adi.
On the other hand, the growing friendship between the Anies and Ganjar camps can be seen as a form of political friendship.
Because so far, the two camps have always had the impression of being diametrically apart. Both of them wanted to break this impression.
“It is not impossible that if there are two rounds, these two camps can form a coalition with each other because they both feel that they are being marginalized politically,” explained Adi.

For example, when presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, wished PDIP a happy birthday via a story on Instagram.
Then, Ganjar also brought the narrative of change during the PDIP 51st anniversary celebration at the Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Wednesday (10/1/2024).
The word “change” was inserted when Ganjar revealed that the election was a hope for ordinary people to improve their lives.
If he wins the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), Ganjar promises to fight for the welfare of the people.
“Elections are a hope for change, and PDI Perjuangan is a hope to fight for the fate of the little people,” said Ganjar at the PDI-P Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.
