PROBOLINGGO – The Probolinggo Regency Health Service (Dinkes) in collaboration with the Probolinggo Regency PKK Mobilization Team held a coordination meeting (rakor) entitled casual chat in preparation for the implementation of the 2024 Polio National Immunization Sub Week (PIN) at the Probolinggo Regent’s Official Residence, Thursday (11/ 1/2024) noon.

The activity, which was attended by the Chair of the TP PKK Subdistricts throughout Probolinggo Regency, was attended by the Acting Chair of the Probolinggo Regency PKK Mobilization Team Rita Erik Ugas Irwanto, Assistant for Government and Social Welfare Santiyono, Head of the Ministry of Religion Samsur Office, Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Service Fathur Rozi and Acting Head of the Health Office Tutug Edi Utomo together with all the heads of the Probolinggo Regency Health Office.

This casual chat also involved administrators from Bhayangkari Probolinggo Police, Bhayangkari Probolinggo City Police, Persit Kartika Candra Kirana Kodim 0820 Probolinggo, PC Muslimat NU Probolinggo Regency and PD Aisiyah Probolinggo Regency.

Acting Chair of the Probolinggo Regency PKK Mobilization Team, Rita Erik Ugas Irwanto, said that polio is a disease that originates or originates from a virus. Polio cannot be treated and polio can only be prevented.

“One way to prevent this is polio immunization with 2 drops per person. Apart from immunization, polio can actually be prevented with a clean and healthy lifestyle. Because polio can be contracted from contaminated feces or feces. “It could also be spread through airborne droplets from coughing people who have had polio,” he said.

Therefore, it is clear that Rita Erik, PKK together with the Health Office are trying to ensure that children in Probolinggo Regency are free from polio. With this polio sub PIN, it is hoped that children in Probolinggo Regency will be truly free from polio.

“We from the PKK mobilized cadres in the villages and the Health Office mobilized health workers in the community health centers and villages. We also synergize with Aisiyah, Muslimat NU, Bhayangkari and Persit. “Everyone in Probolinggo Regency must work together to make PIN Polio a success,” he explained.

Rita Erik appealed to mothers and grandmothers who always take their grandchildren to the posyandu not to forget January 15 to 21 2024 for the first round to take their children and grandchildren to the posyandu or puskesmas.

“For school children, we also provide services to schools. In essence, we will try to provide polio immunization services wherever you are. “The target is 100 percent,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Probolinggo District Health Office, Tutug Edi Utomo, through the Head of Disease Prevention and Control, Dr. Dewi Vironica said that currently her party is carrying out micro planning.

“This micro planning is a plan for additional immunization activities that we divide per region. So there are several villages per health center and each village has several posyandu. “So each village head and village officers, whether midwives or nurses in the village, already know the number of targets in their respective areas,” he said.

According to Dewi, because it will be implemented from January 15 to 21 2024, they divide it up every day. Because there is a daily evaluation recap. Later, with the number of targets, the total targets are divided per day into targets for officers in the village.

“From the projections obtained from Pusdatin, the target age group from 0 to 7 years is around 134 thousand. But we want the target to be real and data collection has been carried out by friends at each community health center. “From the data collection results, it turns out that the actual results reached more than 145 thousand,” he explained.

Dewi explained that obstacles definitely exist because each region has a different community culture. However, officers at community health centers, both from villages and sub-districts, have their own ways of approaching the community or approaching targets. How can they be mobilized to come to immunization posts?

“God willing, there will be no rejection because this is in the form of drops. Even if there is a rejection later, it can still be controlled because the community health center partners with religious and community leaders on how to provide good and correct understanding and education to the targets who refuse that this vaccination is not an obligation from the government, but because of a need whose aims are shared. “making children polio-free so that the chain of transmission of the polio virus in Probolinggo Regency does not occur,” he concluded.
