Paraguay 2024 Vaccination Campaign: Ministry of Health Launches Comprehensive Strategy

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Public Health announced that the 2024 Vaccination Campaign will be launched in April, marking the beginning of a comprehensive strategy to address the prevention of diseases such as Covid-19 and influenza.

The 2024 vaccination campaign is led by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (Mspbs) through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI).

The director of the PAI, Luis Cousirat, when explaining the decision to start the campaign in April, highlighted the importance of approaching the winter season proactively, taking last year’s success as a reference.

The availability of the doses and their distribution to the vaccination centers will mark the official start of this initiative, supported by an official communication to the population to encourage participation, the health portfolio reported.

Updated 2024 Covid-19 doses will be available in late January or early February, marking a significant step toward continued protection of our population.

This news is especially encouraging as it will allow the annual application of the vaccine to the at-risk population, providing an additional layer of security against the omicron variant and its possible mutations.
