The round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup is closed this Thursday, with the last two games of the fifth round, and the draw for the quarter-finals will be, starting next Monday, January 15th, at Cidade do Futebol .
At this point, we already have six teams qualified for the quarter-finals – Sporting, FC Porto, União de Leiria, Gil Vicente, Vizela and Benfica – but we still have to know the results of this Thursday’s clashes: Santa Clara-Nacional (5pm) and V. Guimarães-Penafiel (8:15 p.m.).
The list of teams qualified for the quarter-finals will therefore be complete this Thursday, but, as the regulations require, the Portuguese Football Federation will then have to wait for the results to be ratified, before moving on to Friday’s draw. knockout stage (quarter-finals).
The draw should therefore take place next morning on Monday, January 15th, the day on which the second round of the League will also close, with the last game of the 17th round.
