‘Pokémon’ and ‘Dragon Ball’ came together in a crossover that could give you nightmares. For a very special reason, Ash had to eat his best friend.
No matter what happens, Pokémon and Dragon Ball will always be two of the animes that will never go out of style. In the case of the anime created by Akira Toriyama, 40 years after his debut, new adventures of the Saiyan warriors continue to appear. In fact, next February Dragon Ball Daima will be launched, a new arc in which Goku and his friends will begin a journey through different planets to find a way to reverse a wish by which they have all been turned into children. And to make it even better, Sand Land, another Toriyama creation, will see the light of day taking a place in the Disney+ catalog.
In the case of pocket monsters, their impact on popular culture is undeniable, so much so that Pikachu has become Japan’s official mascot for various global events. With almost three decades since its first appearance in manga and television, both anime and video games continue to be a success. Although Ash and Pikachu are no longer the protagonists of the franchise and have said goodbye to the anime, the world of the magnificent creatures is still more alive than ever with Pokémon Horizons. And not to miss the presence of the electric mouse, the new series has its own Pikachu with special powers never seen before.
As two iconic animes, many of their fans have dreamed of bringing them together in the same place, to make the most epic crossover of all. In fact, a couple of months ago, an illustrator fulfilled the wishes of Pokémon and Dragon Ball fans with an image of Gohan, Mewtwo and even Agumon from Digimon, sharing the same space. Now, another very creative user brought together two Pokémon characters with Dragon Ball, although in a way that could be somewhat grotesque for the most loyal fans of pocket monsters.
It is very likely that the image that merges the worlds of Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z can give you nightmares, although many others have simply taken it with humor due to the great imagination of its author. To become a Super Saiyan like Goku, complete with yellow beak-shaped hair, Ash had to eat his best friend. Since Pikachu has electrical powers and lightning similar to those expelled by Saiyans when transforming, Ash decided to feed on the mouse in the hope of gaining more strength for himself.
As strange as it may seem, Ash’s idea worked and after having his best friend for breakfast, the Pokémon trainer became a true Saiyan. Now, Ash doesn’t need any pocket monsters to become a Pokémon Master. In fact, with strength comparable to Goku’s, Ash could start a battle against powerful legendary Pokémon like Mewtwo or Rayquaza.
