Chairman of the National Winning Team Advisory Board Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN National Team), Hamdan Zoelva, responded to Prabowo Subianto’s invitation to discuss accusations of ‘insiders’ in the procurement of defense equipment and food estate management. Hamdan emphasized that for his party political opponents are not enemies.
“Yes, so for us, political opponents are not enemies. Political opponents are friends in competing for the position of presidential candidate. Therefore, it is permissible to argue loudly with political opponents, but friendship and friendship are never lost,” said Hamdan in a press conference at the Headquarters. AMIN Team, Diponogoro X, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/1/2024).
Hamdan said that his party welcomed the invitation for discussion between Anies and Prabowo. He said the friendship between these two figures would not fade.
“That’s why Pak Prabowo invited the number 1 presidential candidate to have coffee. I think he was greeted with joy. Personal friendship never fades. But, in a debate atmosphere, of course they are political opponents,” said Hamdan.
“So don’t think of it as hostility. That’s normal, after this is over, friendship is normal,” he continued.
However, he explained what Prabowo and Anies the debate had to be finished that night. He said Prabowo definitely knows which Ministry of Defense issues are secret and which aspects can be opened to the public.
“Yes, there’s no problem, but what was said last night were things that should be discussed in public. So it actually ends there. Just answer honestly because Pak Prabowo definitely knows what’s secret and what’s not secret. Actually, it’s impossible, sir. “Anies is urging to reveal something that is secret, it’s impossible. You understand,” he added.
Previously, during the debate, Prabowo said Anies conveyed wrong data. He said he was ready for further discussion regarding the data alleged by Anies.
“So, all the data you revealed is all wrong. So I’m willing, we sit down, we open it up. If we want to talk about food estate, if we want to talk about PT Teknologi Military Indonesia, we’ll open it,” said Prabowo.
Anies Baswedan 2 Prabowo Subianto has also been willing to accept the invitation for discussion regarding the defense budget. However, according to Anies, the discussion must be held and witnessed in front of everyone.
“It has to be in front of everyone,” said Anies as reported by Antara, Monday (8/1).
