The Argentine actress Laura Vignatti, recognized for her participation in soap operas from Mexico, denounced the mistreatment of which she was a victim by her ex-partner, who even prevented her from leaving her house or talking to her family.

Vignatti, 34, has acted in Mexican productions such as My husband has a family (opposite the Colombian Daniel Arenas), Las Amazonas, Lo unforgiven or Como dice el saying.

However, she was away from television for a few months due to the nightmare she experienced with her ex-boyfriend. The actress made her testimony public in an interview with psychologist Silvia Omeda so that other women receive timely help.
“Things were happening to me, I feel like I had been in a movie, like in another dimension. (…) I had found a family in him,” he said.
Although at first she considered the man supportive, he adopted a series of threatening attitudes.
“I wanted to send people to take care of me, to be there with me, to control me. (…) It was a strange thing that I ended up doing what he wanted without realizing it,” he said in a conversation with the psychologist.

According to what she said, the man distanced her from her friends and family, forced her to change her phone number and even controlled her arrival and departure times at work: “He started putting things in my head to make me change.”
Vignatti cannot explain “how everything happened”, since the relationship was completely transformed when the physical attacks began.
“I covered my bruises before going out and no one noticed. I could ask for help at that moment, but I didn’t. I was blocked in the scenes, it was difficult for me. (…) He even mistreated me because I kept getting a bruise. Spanish accent or word, he hit me for that,” he said.
The artist considered him a “monster” when remembering all the episodes: “After he hit me, he took care of me. He made me feel that he loved me and was going to protect me.”
Vignatti was recording the novel Mi Secreto, for the Mexican company Televisa, when her ex-boyfriend locked her up and told the production that she would not work anymore. The actress’s role had to be modified due to her absence, while she suffered from violence.
“On December 24, he locked me in the room. I thought he was going to kill me,” he said.
The actress escaped from the house she shared with the man and reported him to the competent authorities. In addition, she left Mexico for safety: “They told me that she was alive by a miracle.”

“Women are exposed to this. (…) Because of not exposing them and not reporting them, things continue to happen. My mission is to help other women, to prevent these things from happening to them,” she reflected.
