Yingk Pills EDC Powerbank: The Innovative Power Bank Reinventing the Industry with Stylish Design and Unique Features

A power bank is associated with a piece of electronics that is supposed to function, not look. The new proposal from the small company Yingk shows that seemingly uninteresting equipment can be innovative.

Typical power banks available in electronics stores are usually devices without any additional frills – a simple casing, a few USB-A and USB-C ports (the cheap ones even have a slightly archaic micro USB), sometimes there is a screen or LEDs informing about the charging status. We connect the cable to the power source and our smartphone, laptop or other accessory and that’s it – it works. On Kick starter However, a great design of a device has emerged that is not only compact, but also very well thought out.

Powerbank reinvented. It is very small and stylish

Yingk has an active Kickstarter project called “Pills EDC powerbank”. This is a compact device for replenishing the energy of smartphones and more, with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is a typical value in current Android smartphones. The device is not only small (dimensions 78 × 27 × 36 mm), but also looks interesting. It looks really nice and has a built-in rubber lanyard… which is actually a cable with a Lightning or USB-C plug.

This means that we can use a permanently attached cable to attach the powerbank to, for example, keys. If that wasn’t enough, the device manufacturer equipped it with a rotating plug that allows us to “attach” the powerbank to the smartphone. Interestingly, the plug rotates in several axes, so by rotating the port appropriately, we can use it as a phone support, which can be useful, among others, watching something while eating – the smartphone may be better tilted towards the viewer in a horizontal position, instead of lying flat on the table.

The equipment also supports fast charging technology with a power of 22.5 W in both directions, thanks to which we can quickly replenish the energy of our smartphone, but also of the power bank itself (the USB-C charging port is on the side of the device). The manufacturer offers two variants – with a swivel USB-C plug and Lightning cable and with a swivel Lightning plug and USB-C cable, so if you have an iPhone 14 or older, you can also charge other devices (including MacBook Pro or Nintendo Switch) using the device ).

Yingk solves many problems of typical power banks: primarily weight, the need to carry an additional USB-C or Lightning cable, but also guarantees additional functions such as a phone stand. The small size means you can throw the device into your pocket, and the cable can serve as a lanyard. Additionally, it does not cost millions, because to obtain it, you need to pay USD 29 (approx. PLN 116) to the project, and deliveries are planned for March 2024.
