The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has urged European leaders to achieve a sufficient arsenal so that the continent can “defend freedom.”
His comments came in a speech Sunday to participants of the security conference ‘People and Defence/National Conference 2024’ celebrada en Suecia.
“Two years of this war have shown that Europe needs its own arsenal sufficient for the defense of freedom, its own capabilities to guarantee the defense, its own potential that will allow all of Europe, or any part of it, to maintain and preserve itself under any global situation,” Zelensky said.

Meanwhile, at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo, on the outskirts of Moscow, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, met with family of Russian soldiers participating in Moscow’s military campaign in Ukraine.
During the meeting that coincided with Orthodox Christmas, Putin called on the Russian military “brave warriors“who “defend the interests of the country with weapons in hand.”
He said the meeting was “a clear signal” that the families of soldiers fighting in Ukraine would be supported.
