Recently, the annual meeting of the steering committee of the Natura 2000 Aqueduc de Pézenas site was held, led by the Hérault Méditerranée urban community (CAHM). It is made up of elected officials from Tourbes and Pézenas and representatives of various services of the State, the Region, the Department and nature protection associations (Groupe Chiroptères de LR, CEN Occitanie, Société de protection de la nature).
The CAHM environment department presented all the actions carried out in 2023 and those planned for 2024. This site presents major challenges linked to the presence of protected bat colonies, the CAHM is working on its management through actions of knowledge, protection, awareness and information for various stakeholders and the general public such as annual monitoring of colonies or the activities organized as part of the iInternational Bat Night. During this meeting, the following were unanimously re-elected: Ms. Ballestero, municipal councilor of Pézenas as president of the Copil, and the CAHM as animating structure.
