In Paris, it will soon be possible to stay rue David Bowie. This Monday, January 8, the town hall of 13th arrondissement will inaugurate this street, which is located in a district still under construction near the Austerlitz station. On this day, the singer would have celebrated his 77th birthday.
It will be necessary to wait a few years so that the first Parisians can be domiciled there, the first buildings will only emerge from the ground in three years, at least, according to France Bleu.
Questioned by our colleagues, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement, Jérôme Cometexplains: “Like many, David Bowie had an impact on me, I think he went far in creation, he also inspired a lot of artists around the world, it’s important to pay tribute to him.”
“His first performance outside England was in Paris,” continues the mayor of the 12th arrondissement to justify this tribute, even if the singer has no particular link with this specific area of the Capital. “It was there that he proposed to his wife, he said very regularly that he was very attached to France and Paris,” he adds.
