In the opening speech of the festival, Özreçberoğlu Kırıkkaleli mentioned that mathematics is used in every moment and in every field of our lives, and stated that the games played within the scope of the mathematics festival aim to provide targeted learning skills and discover the colorful side of mathematics. In addition, Özreçberoğlu Kırıkkaleli stated that the materials used in the games were developed within the scope of the “Teaching Mathematics with Games” Course in the 2022-2023 Fall Term and 2023-2024 Fall Term and added: He stated that it was played with the participation of grade 1 students in the festival.
“The games that students enjoy playing provide opportunities for students to become aware of their own knowledge and to make decisions through strategic thinking. “Students, who expressed that they saw the enjoyable side of mathematics by competing, expressed that they would be happy to participate in such events again when leaving the campus,” said Kırıkkaleli, and also expressed his gratitude to those who contributed to the realization of the festival and to the teacher candidates who performed the games.
