During the event held next to La Pérgola in the Central Park of the Chillán Campus, two days were held with girls and boys from 3 to 6 years old and from 7 to 12 years old, who were accompanied by their parents and guardians.

“For us it is important to generate this instance of connection with the University of Concepción, because it helps us expand Taekwon-do towards the community, as a training and sports martial art. I am happy with the number of registered participants that the workshop had because it is inclusive for those who participated and will do so in the coming days,” commented instructor Tomás Bauer.

Natalia Arias Venegas (10) attended the workshop and stated that “I found it very entertaining. She had not participated in anything similar before. I was interested in coming because I had seen it in the news that appears on television and in some schools. My cousins told me ‘Nati, we are going to Taekwon-do tomorrow’ and they convinced me to come. I liked the experience,” she described.

Subsequently, the “Innovation Picnic” was held, an open-air meeting held in the Administration and Finance Park of the House of Higher Studies, to talk about the impact of the Ñuble Innovation District project, which had as panelists the Dr. Daniel Sandoval Silva, Director FIC-R Innovation District of Ñuble and Deputy Academic Director of the UdeC Campus Chillán; Marcela Martínez Bascuñán, director of CityLab Bio Bío; Dr. Mabel Alarcón Rodríguez, academic at the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Geography UdeC and Director of the project Update of the Regional Development Strategy (ERD) of Ñuble and Claudio Martínez Cerda, architect and Head of the Planning and Development Division of the

Regional Government of Ñuble. “It is a very beneficial instance because it is the download that we have to do on the information of the Ñuble Innovation District for the community. It was a very relevant day to transmit this information to everyone, so that they know the impact it can have in the future,” stressed the Director FIC-R Innovation District of Ñuble and Deputy Academic Director of the UdeC Campus Chillán, Dr. Daniel Sandoval. Silva.

For her part, Claudia Suazo Contreras, attendee of the “Innovation Picnic”, expressed that “I was quite satisfied with this activity that was open to the community because we were able to learn about aspects of a project as important as the Ñuble Innovation District. The development of this meeting caught my attention, how it allowed us to interact outdoors at the UdeC Campus Chillán to address this issue,” she said.

Finally, the Workshop “Writing Science with Style: Introduction to LaTeX” was held, taught by the academic from the Department of Agribusiness of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering of the UdeC, Dr. Ramiro Rebolledo Cormack, in which he addresses this professional typography to writing scientific texts.

“This workshop seeks to make the attendees aware of this system for whatever they need because currently we all generate some work through computers, which sometimes means presenting reports, therefore, having these tools at hand and knowing that they exist, they are useful for the internal and external community, seeing the UdeC as the place that teaches it,” said Dr. Rebolledo.

Along these lines, Constanza Molina Jerez, workshop assistant, added that “I participated because I want to investigate more about LaTeX. I thought it was very cool and I had no idea about the history of this system. “It motivates me to continue in the next few days because the academic will delve into more aspects that allow us to better use this tool,” she concluded.
