Netanyahu Vows to Continue War in Gaza as it Enters Fourth Month

Netanyahu pledges to continue the war as it enters its fourth month

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he will continue the fighting in the Gaza Strip, and does not intend to stop before eliminating the Hamas movement. Netanyahu said, at the beginning of the Israeli government session on Sunday: “I have a clear message to our enemies: What happened on October 7 will not be repeated again.” This is the commitment of the government under my presidency, and this is why our soldiers sacrifice their lives in the field. Commanders and soldiers, in regular service and reserve, in the north and south, repeat and say one thing: We will not return until we carry out our mission, and I say: We will not stop until we are victorious.

He added: “The war should not stop until we achieve all of its goals, which are: eliminating Hamas, the return of all our abductees, and ensuring that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel. I say this to both our enemies and our friends. This is our responsibility, and this is our commitment.”

Fourth month

Netanyahu’s statements came as the war on Gaza entered its fourth month, amid ongoing violent clashes in the center and south of the Strip, and bombing that claimed the lives of more Palestinians. Fierce clashes continued in the central areas of the Gaza Strip, concentrated in the Maghazi camp, and in the southern regions, and concentrated in the city of Khan Yunis.

The Israeli army announced that it had killed dozens of militants in Khan Yunis, which has been witnessing complex fighting for a long time, and destroyed more than 100 targets, including infrastructure, reconnaissance sites and anti-tank missile launch sites, in addition to several underground tunnel openings and tunnels in the area. It contains many weapons, including weapons, hand grenades, explosive devices, and RPG missiles.

The army also announced that the combat team of the “Nahal” Brigade, operating within the 162nd Division, found in the Al-Daraj and Al-Tuffah area, north of the Gaza Strip, a strategic Hamas corridor leading to a 100-meter-long tunnel containing a weapons production site.

Iranian directive

The army said, “As part of the intelligence efforts that focused on production sites and precision components, elements were found proving that Hamas militants learned under Iranian guidance how to operate and build precision components and strategic weapons, and acquired technological knowledge in this field.”

The Israeli army is still operating in the northern Gaza Strip area, despite its announcement that it has dismantled the military framework of Hamas in the northern Gaza Strip, and is engaged in violent clashes in the center and south of the Gaza Strip in battles that seem much more difficult than the battles in the north.

But Hamas and the Al-Qassam Brigades say that they still control the field, contrary to what Israel declares.

On Sunday, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the bombing of soldiers and attacking others in various combat zones, and the destruction of tanks and vehicles in the north, center and south of the Gaza Strip. The “Jerusalem Brigades” affiliated with “Jihad” also announced the bombing of soldiers in the combat zone in Khan Yunis.

As the ground war continued, Israeli aircraft bombed large areas in the Gaza Strip, and in Deir al-Balah, the Nuseirat camp, Khan Yunis, and Jabalia.

Killing of two journalists

Israel killed 3 journalists, one of whom was the son of journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh, who had previously lost his wife, son, daughter, and grandson last October in a raid on a house where they had taken refuge. This brings to 109 the number of journalists killed by Israel in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said in a statement, “These crimes against journalists, in which 9 percent of Gaza’s journalists were killed, will not terrorize or intimidate journalists, but rather will increase their determination to continue conveying the truth about the criminality of the occupation and the ongoing genocidal war against our people in the Gaza Strip.”

The union called on the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into the crimes of targeting and killing Palestinian journalists, noting that the impunity of the occupation is a green light to continue its crimes. The Israeli bombing in Gaza within 24 hours led to the death of 113 Palestinians and the injury of 250 others.

In an infinite toll, the death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war on October 7 last year has risen to 22,835, more than 70 percent of whom are women and children, and 58,316 wounded, in addition to 7,000 people missing under the rubble. . The Government Information Office in Gaza said that Israel has committed 1,915 massacres against civilians in Gaza since the start of the war, killing 10,000 children and 7,000 women out of about 23,000.
