It took the reigning champions 33 minutes to break through to the Championship side through a stunning Phil Foden shot from a tight angle, before Julián Alvarez added a second goal in the 37th minute to finish it off. City led 2-0 at half time.
Then, in the second half, the Blues scored 3 goals in a row from Jackson’s own goal in the 58th minute, Phil Foden scoring his own second goal in the 65th minute and Jeremy Dogu. Scored from an assist from Kevin De Bruyne, who returned to the field for the first time in 143 days, in the 74th minute.
At the end of the game, Manchester City defeated Huddersfield 5-0 and advanced to the fourth round, where the draw will be held on January 8th.
