Tangerang Regency, bidiktangsel.com – The Tangerang Regency Health Service (Dinkes) urges the public to be aware of the threat of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) which lurks during the rainy season.
Head of the Tangerang Regency Health Office, dr. Achmad Muchlis, MARS, said that dengue fever is a disease caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
The Aedes aegypti mosquito breeds in places where there is standing water, such as bathtubs, buckets, cans and other used items.

“Natural water storage in used goods or containers that can collect rainwater around the residence becomes a breeding ground for dengue fever mosquito larvae. So, PHBS is one way to anticipate so that our bodies stay healthy,” said Muchlis.
Muchlis explained that PHBS is an effort to create a clean and healthy environment, so that it can prevent various diseases, including dengue fever. PHBS can be done by:
- Wash hands with soap and running water
- Consume clean and healthy food
- Clean the environment regularly
- Use a mosquito net when sleeping
Apart from implementing PHBS, Muchlis also appealed to the public to implement One House, One Larval Monitor (Jumantik).

Every house can check places that have the potential to become mosquito nests without waiting for cadres or officers to arrive.
“We have to start from our own homes to become Jumantik so that our families and homes are safe and our environment and neighbors can also imitate and implement the same things to become Jumantik,” said Muchlis.
Muchlis also asked the public to optimize mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities with 3M plus. Namely draining, covering and recycling items that have the potential to become mosquito nests.
“Meanwhile, the pluses in question are using mosquito repellent lotion, planting mosquito repellent plants around the house, and keeping larvae-eating fish in the pond. In this way we can avoid Dengue Fever,” he said.
