The Traktorozavodsky District Court of Chelyabinsk sent under arrest a 16-year-old teenager from Dagestan, accused of attempted sabotage at a facility of the Russian Armed Forces, reports 74.ru.
According to investigators, a teenager, whose name has not been released, tried to set fire to a bomber at the Chelyabinsk Shagol military airfield. The publication writes that the plane was quickly extinguished.
FSB employees detained accused on January 5. The intelligence service then stated that the teenager was involved in an attempt to commit sabotage in January 2024 on instructions from the Ukrainian intelligence services. During his arrest, “communication means and media containing his photo reports and correspondence with Ukrainian curators” were confiscated, the FSB stated.
In addition, the special service stated that during the operational search activities, the involvement of the accused “in the arson attacks on communications facilities and railway infrastructure committed in November and December 2023” in Dagestan was established.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously announced that a Su-34 bomber burned down at the Chelyabinsk Shagol military airfield on the night of January 4. A video of a burning bomber was published on social networks by the Main Intelligence Directorate. It is unclear how seriously the plane was damaged.
