Beware, Young People Can Get Pancreatic Cancer
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Pancreatic cancer is a type of cancer that begins with the growth of cells in the pancreas. This disease arises due to bad lifestyle habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (FK) University of Indonesia (UI) Prof Fahrial Syam said that most cases of pancreatic cancer are discovered too late because patients think the heartburn they are experiencing is triggered by ulcer disease or GERD.
Fahrial further said that pancreatic cancer is generally found in patients over 50 years of age, but according to him, it is possible that someone at a young age is also at risk of contracting the cancer suffered by the former Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Rizal Ramli.
