VKKF Announces Tender for Production of Low-Budget Films and Game Shorts: 300,000 Euro Funding Available

The State Cultural Capital Fund (VKKF) has announced a tender for the production of low-budget full-length feature films and game shorts, in which it is planned to distribute 300,000 euros, VKKF representative Ilona Skuja informed.

The purpose of the competition is to support the production of low-budget feature films and short game films in order to create high-quality and original cinematographic works, to promote the professional and creative growth of authors, and to ensure the sustainable development of the Latvian film industry.

Applications can be submitted in the “kkf.kulturaskarte.lv” system until February 2 at 11:59 p.m. On the other hand, the results of the competition will be known after March 1.

Legal entities registered with the State Revenue Service as independent entities with a taxpayer registration number and whose statutes or regulations specify an activity related to culture or art as the main type of activity can participate in the competition for the projects of the target program.

A full-length feature film, no shorter than 65 minutes, or a short game film, no longer than 25 minutes, can apply for support in the competition. Also, in the competition, a maximum of 120,000 euros can be requested for one full-length feature film project, and no more than 40,000 euros for a game short film project.

Only film projects that are planned to be completed by November 30, 2025 can be submitted to the competition.
