Tyrone Padilla, a 61-year-old man who had just returned from a vacation in Puerto Rico, was fatally stabbed in the neck in his residential building in the Bronx (NYC) yesterday morning.
After being injured, his elderly mother Violeta Castro, 84, was able to hug himthe family told Daily News. “She was massaging his chest and simply telling him, ‘Please don’t go, please don’t die,’” said Nory Padilla, the victim’s sister. “But he wasn’t responding or anything like that… His eyes were open, but she could tell he was dazed.”

The victim, his mother and two cousins had just returned from Puerto Rico a few hours before, said heartbroken relatives. After Padilla, a dog lover, returned to town, He went out to walk his pets and buy milk and when he entered the building he was attacked.
Residents of the building heard Castro’s screams crying over his son’s blood-soaked body on the 2nd floor stairs. “There was blood coming down the stairs,” said resident Ailiani Grullon, a 19-year-old teenager. “There was blood everywhere. It looked like there was a cut somewhere around her neck. At first she was breathing and then she was just… lifeless.”
Paramedics took Padilla to St. Barnabas Hospital, but were unable to save him. The motive for the crime is not clear, since according to his family the victim had no enemies.
Apparently someone started chasing Padilla down the block to the building, detectives told his relatives, citing surveillance video.
