Gabriel Castellón discusses competition with Cristopher Toselli and joining University of Chile

Gabriel Castellón, goalkeeper from the University of Chile, spoke with Al Aire Libre PM after the official presentation of the blue reinforcements and addressed the fight to be the starter in goal, in addition to his arrival to the student team

«With Cristopher (Toselli) I have a very good relationship. He welcomed me when I was young for the national team. He is a great person, a great player. The fight is obviously going to happen, but I think it will be a healthy fight.

«It will be a very nice competition because we both want to continue growing. Obviously the decision will be made by the teacher, but as long as we give ourselves 100, it will be important for each one to raise their level,” he continued.

«I don’t know if I have an advantage. The only advantage is that I know what the teacher’s (Gustavo Alvarez) idea is like, but When you change clubs or arrive at a new house, you start everything from scratch«.

Castellón assured that in the intern “they talk about what the teacher is like, how he deals with the group and the decisions he makes. “I can also contribute that, so that the teacher’s idea can be realized more quickly.”

«For many years I was in the orbit of coming here to Santiago. Today it came to fruition and I am very happy, very proud to be able to be here, to show my qualities and demonstrate my game. Nothing, that’s what the U entails now,” he said.

Regarding his reasons for leaving Huachipato, the goalkeeper expressed that “one aspires to greater things. Coming to the U to help and achieve things is very important. I am proud to take on challenges; to make the U grow, to fight for international cups again. “I am sure that with my game I can contribute a lot to that.”
