Blackburn Rovers has had a new youngest debutant in club history since Saturday: fifteen-year-old Rory Finneran. A special detail: the Irishman played in the FA Cup match with Cambridge United without a shirt sponsor.

There was a special reason for this. Blackburn is sponsored by Totally Wicked. That’s a British company that sells vapes. In Great Britain, current regulations state that vapes cannot be sold to people under the age of seventeen, including Finneran.
Players are therefore not allowed to simply promote such products. Finneran came in during injury time, and did so with an ’empty shirt’. Three-time national champion Blackburn, which is currently seventeenth in the Championship, eventually won 5-2 against Cambridge.
