Egyptian journalist Amr Adeeb announced that his brother, journalist Imad El-Din Adeeb, suffered a health problem that led to his heart stopping for a full minute during his participation in a conference in the Emirates, noting that the Egyptian star, doctor Bassem Youssef, intervened by giving him first aid to save his life.
Amr Adeeb narrated the details of the incident, in his program “Al-Hekaya” broadcast on “MBC Misr”, saying, “Imad Adeeb participated in the work of the Arab Strategic Forum in Dubai, and he was conducting a session in which he asked a question in which he said that he might suffer a heart attack if he did not know the answer.” He added, “After this sentence, my brother suffered a near-heart attack.”
Minutes after the dialogue session ended, Imad El-Din Adeeb exchanged conversations with comedian Bassem Youssef, who noticed signs of a heart attack in him as he was sweating, so he – being a doctor and former heart surgeon – requested that he be transferred to the hospital immediately, and this was done within minutes.
Amr Adeeb also stated in his speech that an emergency ambulance equipped for these cases was present at the forum’s headquarters, and Imad Adeeb was transferred to Rashid Hospital in Dubai within 7 minutes.

Amr Adeeb stated that Bassem Youssef was accompanied by Imad El-Din Adeeb in the ambulance, and he checked on him every time.
He continued, “My relationship with Bassem is not good, but I have the utmost respect for what he did, and courage and chivalry are priceless.”
Amr Adeeb also pointed out the personal interest of the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, in the health condition of Imad Al-Din Adeeb, and also thanked both Minister Anwar Gargash and Minister Muhammad Gargawi, who are keen to check on the distinguished journalist Imad Al-Din Adeeb on a daily basis while he is still lying in the hospital.
