The fact is that an accident almost ended the work on the scene in which Ivan Semenovsky, performed by Alexander Pankratov-Cherny, shoots at the glass on Mikhalkov’s head. According to Eldar Ryazanov’s idea, the pyrotechnicians were supposed to explode the target on the artist’s head after the shot was fired. And they planted the required amount of explosives, but after filming, Mikhalkov suddenly grabbed his head in pain.
As it turned out, the experts forgot to put a special gasket between the artist’s head and the pyrotechnics.
Therefore, the explosion occurred directly on Mikhalkov’s head. And working on the episode could even end in death, but everything ended with only a slight fright and a headache. After this, Ryazanov fired the pyrotechnicians and began to be more attentive to the safety of the actors on the set.
