The New Taipei City Government yesterday sent personnel to measure the hometown of Democratic Progressive Party presidential candidate Lai Qingde Wanli. The city government said it had sent out a measurement notice a week in advance, but no one came to cooperate. In this regard, a land official who has been practicing for many years said today (5th) that registration declarations usually clearly fill in the agent’s contact information, but the New Taipei City Government not only went to Wanli to raid the site without contacting the agent, but even did the opposite. The agent was accused of not being legally authorized. He has been practicing law for 30 years and has never seen anything like this done by the New Taipei City Government. No wonder it was considered a raid.

The New Taipei City Government sent personnel to Wanli’s hometown to measure the indoor area, and held a press conference to say that no attorney had been formally appointed in this case. However, regarding the case of Wanli Hometown, a land official who has practiced for many years pointed out that the identity of the agent and related contact information are usually clearly filled in in the house registration declaration form. If the New Taipei City Government never sends a letter or contacts the agent with a copy, , so that the lawyer and the agent were not notified until the day of the measurement, they would inevitably feel that they were being raided. “If he didn’t send an official document, he would at least make a phone call.” A local politician even bluntly said: “What age is it? If you have a phone, you can’t It really doesn’t make sense to call me, after all, the lawyer said he had contacted me on the phone many times before.”

Regarding the New Taipei City Government’s argument that the agent was not authorized, the local politician was also puzzled. He said that his experience in this case was unprecedented. He has been engaged in land administration work for nearly 30 years and has never encountered any request from the agency responsible for it. When an agent issues a power of attorney document, it is even turned back and said to be without legal authorization.
