The young fisherman David Castro Castillo, who disappeared on the shores of Santiago de Cuba before the end of 2023remains missing.
The information was confirmed on social networks by his partner, Anurgis Pérez Ferrer, who has urged the community to respect the privacy of his family and stop sharing false news related to the young man.
The woman’s request arose from a series of false publications that claimed that it had already been found, something that she denied.
“For all those who have cared to know about David, even us who are his family and I who am his partner, no news has come from him. Stop spreading false news, respect what we are feeling and our feelings,” wrote the woman, who is expecting a child from the missing young man.
As an example, Pérez Ferrer shared one of these publications, which stated that the young man had been found the day before by a cargo ship, something that is totally false.
The young woman points out that the search for her partner continues, although she took advantage of the situation to once again complain about the inaction that the authorities had from the first day.
“Today is six days and we do not have any information, only that the search has continued, although it would have been better if they had rescued him on the 30th,” Pérez wrote.
At the end of 2023, the young woman indicated that David entered the sea to do some fishing, but that his boat was swept away by the wind and the strong tide that occurred in the port of El Francés beach on December 30.
The woman also said that they alerted the authorities, but they took too long to mobilize. In that sense, she stated that multiple calls were made to emergency services, but that it took them two hours to respond.
The authorities stated that they were preparing a rescue team, but that they did not have the fuel to mobilize it. After another two hours of insistently making calls, several border guards arrived at the scene, however, they arrived without a boat to go out to look for him.
The boat that was used to look for the young man did not arrive in the area until 8:00 pm, seven hours after the young man’s boat was swept away by the current, and five hours after the authorities finally responded to the calls. of the family.
That search lasted only two hours, because at 10:00 pm the authorities’ boat returned to port stating that there was too much wind to continue. The next day, Perez was told that a helicopter would assist in subsequent searches, but neither she nor her family saw a single aircraft over the next few days.
“It was all a lie. The entire service was delayed. It was 6 hours that if they had arrived early they would have taken him out of the sea on time,” she said in that complaint.
