Ryszard Murawski was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his wife while their teenage son was at home on Long Island (NY).
Police said the 44-year-old man attacked his wife Wioleta Murawski (38) outside his Lindenhurst home Wednesday night, he said. News 12.
The injured woman and her 15-year-old son ran to a neighbor’s house for help and from there they called 911.
Suffolk County Police responded and Murawski was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead. While, the suspect attempted to flee the scene but he crashed his vehicle against a building just two blocks from his house. He was also hospitalized and today he was charged with murder, reported Daily Voice.
Police have not provided details about what led up to the stabbing or whether the couple had a history of domestic violence.
Murawski was the second woman stabbed on Long Island in recent days, stood out Daily News. On New Year’s Eve, a 44-year-old victim survived after being stabbed in the chest at an apartment complex in Riverhead, about 40 miles east of Lindenhurst. Jayveona Nash-Jones, an 18-year-old teenager, was arrested the next day and charged with assault.
Also this week on Long Island, a mother died after being shot in the head inside her home on New Year’s Eve.
All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
