The record was set well inside Nordmarka, at Bjørnholt.
The cold record was first broken on Friday evening between 20 and 21. Then minus 29.3 was measured.
And the observations from the Meteorological Institute crawled down the night of Saturday
After 04:00 they showed 31.1 minus degrees.
Bjørnholt lies far into the forest north of Holmenkollen. It has been a restaurant there for over 100 years.

The previous record was from 2011 with 28.8 minus degrees.
Not a record in the center, yet…
It is not yet as cold as it was measured during the war. In January 1942, minus 26 degrees were measured in the city of Oslo.
On Blindern it was cold on the night of Saturday, down to -22.4 degrees, and on Bygdøy -23 degrees.
Power outages in the cold
At Romerike, near the airport at Gardermoen, there was a power cut on the night of Saturday. At most, over 2,300 electricity customers were without power.
It happened at the same time as it is very cold. In Ullensaker, 23.9 minus degrees were measured at 02:00.
The electricity company Elvia states on its website that it is working to correct the error.
Gets a little softer
Freezing temperatures have been forecast in Oslo on both Saturday and Sunday. By the week it will be a little milder, but there may still be days with temperatures down to minus 10.
At the same time, it will be warmer elsewhere in the country. In Finnmark – where minus 43.5 has been measured in Kautokeino, the coldest in Europe – plus degrees are expected for the week.
This means that the Swedish Road Administration fears that it will be slippery when the weather changes.
In Eastern Norway, a warning has also been issued that it may be slippery. It is so cold that salt does not bite the ice, while the sand it is sprinkled with blows away.
