“Starsky & Hutch” Star David Soule Dies at 80 – Remembering the 70s TV Icon

The star of the popular 70s TV series “Starsky & Hutch” David Soule passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday, the actor’s wife Helen Snell said on Friday.

In the series Soule played Detective Ken “Hutch” Hutchinson alongside Detective David Starsky played by Paul Michael Glaser.

The series was originally broadcast on ABC from 1975 to 1979. It gained such wide popularity that even children’s toys were produced in the likeness of the characters.

At the height of his popularity, Soul also entered the music charts with the single “Don’t Give Up on Us”.

Soule lived for many years in Great Britain, where he had many roles in the theater.

Among other things, he played the lead role of US talk show host Jerry Springer in the musical “Jerry Springer – The Opera” in London’s West End.
