Bar-le-Duc
The sales are on. As tradition dictates, the winter sales began in Lorraine on January 2, eight days before the rest of France. Early discounts to align with Luxembourg and Belgium and avoid customer flight to these two border countries. But for merchants, these sales arrive far too early and have to deal with the lack of money after the end-of-year holidays. It was therefore calmly that the sales began in Bar-le-Duc, a period which no longer makes us dream so much, since the establishment of private sales and other Black Fridays, throughout the year. In Lorraine, the sales will officially end on January 29.
Vitry-le-François
The work at Hamois has fallen behind schedule. (P.-JP archive photo)
Despite the delays, housing is growing like mushrooms. Nothing stops the construction sites in Vitry. After the delivery of the renovated Hall and the aquatic center, in 2023, this new year promises to be rich in new constructions or renovations, mainly housing: 236 collectives (272 if we count the apartments of the reception residence and reintegration) and 22 individuals. Among the largest operations, we will remember the reconstruction of Hamois, which, despite almost 18 months of delay, should see 54 collective housing units and eight individual housing units come out of the ground this year. Several wastelands will also be converted: the Hôtel de l’Etoile (six apartments plus a new building with 14 housing units, including three pavilions), the deanery house (21 housing units), the former gendarmerie (44 housing units), the Nissan wasteland (30 collective housing units and four individual houses) or the Renaissance clinic (40 housing units, including seven individual homes). Projects which are all part of the Action Cœur de Ville program.
Fiftieth anniversary of Lac du Der, Jean-Pierre Bouquet tackles (again) the Syndicat du Der. Clearly, Jean-Pierre Bouquet never misses any opportunity to attack his political adversaries. While the 50th anniversary of the impoundment of Lake Der is looming, the mayor of Vitry has been denouncing for weeks the too little place given to his city in the demonstrations planned by the Syndicat du Der, chaired by Sébastien Mirgodin, parliamentary attaché. of Charles de Courson, his lifelong adversary. He therefore decided to pay a first tribute to the three submerged villages, by giving their name to three streets in the Hamois district. By dint of going it alone, one should not be surprised to be left out of the official program…
