Tottenham Hotspur reached the next round of the FA Cup on Friday thanks to a fantastic goal. Thanks to Pedro Porro’s Sunday shot, Spurs won 1-0 at home against rival Burnley.
Porro received the ball after a repulsed attack in the 78th minute and delivered a devastating shot into the far corner from about 20 meters. Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, who previously played for NAC and Willem II, had no chance.
The win puts Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Fulham also joined that list on Friday evening, by beating Rotherham United 1-0 at home. Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers have to repeat after the 1-1.
Micky van de Ven did not return to Tottenham Hotspur. The defender was part of the match selection for the first time after a long-term hamstring injury, but he remained on the bench for the entire match.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will not play in the FA Cup until Monday. The English record champion will then visit third division team Wigan Athletic. The top match between Arsenal and Liverpool is scheduled for Sunday in the cup tournament. Manchester City will play at home against Huddersfield Town from the Championship.
