New Delhi – The Congress has announced various screening committees ahead of the Lok Sabha elections including candidate selection. Screening committees are formed on cluster basis. Harish Chaudhary has been appointed as the chairman of the screening committee in charge of Kerala. Jignesh Mevani and two others are in the committee.
Kerala is in cluster one along with the states and Union Territories of Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and Puducherry. Besides the chairman Harish Chaudhary and Jignesh Mevani, Vishwajeet Kadam is the third member of the committee in this cluster.
The second cluster including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha and Andaman Nicobar is chaired by the committee headed by Madhusudan Mistry. Other members of the committee are Suraj Hegde and Shafi Parambil from Kerala.
Rajini Patil will head the committee which will cover the cluster comprising Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Daman and Diu and Dadra Nagarhaveli. Krishna Alavuru and Pargat Singh are members of the committee.
Cluster 4 consists of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. A committee headed by Bhakta Charan Das is in charge of this cluster. The members of the committee are Neeraj Dangi and Yashomathy Thakur.
Rana K.P. is in charge of cluster five comprising Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. Singh. The committee members are Jaiwardhan Singh and Ivan D’Souza.
