Stock Market Update: Vow Green Metals Falls, XXL Jumps, Northern Drilling Plunges

Vow Green Metals fell 12.8 per cent after yesterday’s strong rise triggered by the fact that the company has signed a supply agreement for the annual delivery of 15,000 tonnes of biocarbon to Elkem. The agreement has a duration of five years with an option to extend it for a further five years.

XXL jumped up on Friday with a rise of 15.2 percent. There has been no company-specific news from the sports giant.

Northern Drilling plunged 13.5 percent on Friday, after fluctuating sharply in recent weeks. In mid-December, the share fell heavily following the announcement that an extraordinary general meeting will be held on 9 January to approve the delisting from Oslo Børs.

TGS fell 2.8 per cent to NOK 130.50 after SEB, according to TDN Direkt, lowered the “late sales” estimate and lowered the price target from NOK 210 to NOK 190. The brokerage reiterates its buy recommendation.

The Yara share ended down 4.3 per cent to NOK 333.75 and became the second most traded share of the day.

The oil price

Brent oil stood at USD 79.00 per barrels, up 1.8 percent so far in today’s trade. By comparison, the price of a barrel of burnt oil was 77.98 dollars when Oslo Børs closed on Thursday. WTI oil rose 2.5 percent to $74.00 per barrel.

Equinor ended down 0.4 percent, while Aker BP fell 1.4 percent. Vår Energi ended down 1.0 per cent after SEB has adjusted the price target down. On Thursday, Arctic Securities torpedoed the price targets on all three heavyweights.
