“I was overwhelmed by people’s love, and I am grateful for everyone’s sympathy, despite the ordeal I am going through.” With these words, Lebanese actor Fadi Ibrahim began his speech to Blinks, explaining the details of his health condition, which has deteriorated recently, and which necessitated launching a financial and moral support campaign for him.
Fadi Ibrahim, despite his health condition, did not skimp on cooperation, and his usual voice remained the same despite his illness. He spoke with firmness and revealed his condition. So what did he say despite his suffering? What about the campaign to support him in Lebanon? What is his message to his fans and his country?
“I lost my foot and am on dialysis.”
Ibrahim spent 3 hours, Thursday, at the Heart of Jesus Hospital in Beirut, where he underwent a dialysis session, and he revealed to “Blinx” that she was tired and despite that, “God’s goodness is abundant,” and “everything that comes from our Lord is good,” as he said.
The name of Fadi Ibrahim has become the subject of the media in the past few days, especially after it was reported that he lost one of his legs due to the health condition he suffers from.
Press reports quoted doctors as saying that they also expressed their fear that the handsome Lebanese actor would lose other organs in his body, but they confirmed that his condition was stable.
Ibrahim (67 years old) told Blinks that his suffering is caused by diabetes, explaining that he also suffers from kidney problems, and is now undergoing two dialysis sessions weekly. He adds: “Doctors are keeping up with my condition, as diabetes is making me tired, but I have faith in remaining steadfast to face the disease.” Currently, all efforts are focused on treating the kidneys and also controlling the effects of diabetes.”
He added: “I am now trying to install a prosthetic limb to replace the amputated foot, and it takes time, especially since I need to train on the new limb to live with it.”
Support campaign
With all love, Ibrahim thanked everyone who sympathized with him, either through social networking sites or from the artistic community, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the Syndicate of Theater, Cinema, Radio and Television Actors in Lebanon to mobilize financial support for his treatment.
Ibrahim says: “The Lebanese public is loyal and does not forget anyone, and their memory is as deep and authentic as his. They are the people of Lebanon who are not stingy in giving and providing assistance. Through lovers, I will be able to continue my career, and with the support of the people of art, I will be present with them again and I will not give up.”
He continued: “There are state officials who are trying to communicate with us, but we say that our hope is to have a state that protects us and the citizen.”
“Abraham will not break”
The head of the Actors Syndicate in Lebanon, Nima Badawi, told “Blinks” that Ibrahim’s colleagues never left him, noting that “the sympathy is very great for the artist who gave Lebanon before him.” He said: “Ibrahim has been in the hospital for 3 months… He had health insurance.” But he exceeded the maximum limit, but the union did not abandon him, while the Ministries of Health and Culture provided him with support within capabilities.”
He continued: “In light of the ordeal that Ibrahim is going through, solidarity is important among everyone… There is very offensive talk that has emerged on social media, and we deny what is said about Ibrahim’s condition being completely deteriorating, as this talk is not true… His condition is critical, yes, but stable.” .
He concluded: “The treatment journey is long, but I confirm that Ibrahim has very high morale. It is true that the health costs are high, but the steadfastness is great and Ibrahim will not break. He has made many people happy in his artistic career, and today everyone is by his side, and no matter how long the absence is, he will return stronger than he was.”
“The state left us to our fate.”
With “great sadness”, the Lebanese actress Randa Kaadi launched her cry towards the Lebanese state. She told Blinks that what Fadi Ibrahim is going through can all of us go through, and she added, “The state has left us to our fate… We do not have any guarantee or health insurance… Why this neglect, really?” The artist and the actor: We have given a lot to Lebanon and we are still giving from our heart to this country and the public, and we have never been stingy in giving, so why does the state stingy with the simplest guarantees that a person deserves to receive?”
She continued: “The cry is great from the heart. Fadi is facing illness in light of the economic and moral collapse that we are suffering from in our country. The crisis has revealed many tragedies. There are many people who have money held in banks that cannot be benefited from or used for medicine. What reality are we living in? Pain.” “Very large and enough disdain for the life of the artist and the citizen.”
She concluded: “If we do not work, we will not be able to live.. Is this the artist’s reward in the country of art? Is this how we are honored after giving for years for years… The talk ends in the face of all the difficulties we face.”
Lebanese actor Mazen Al-Moadam, in turn, expressed his deep sadness at what Fadi Ibrahim had become, and said: “Fadi’s dignity is above any consideration, and the Lebanese state must take action for him. It is its duty to do so, because Fadi is a big star and an important artistic figure in Lebanon.”
He continued: “In other countries, we see that officials are taking action for the sake of the artists, but here we do not see any action from anyone. The sadness is very deep in the artistic community over the situation of Fadi Ibrahim. Anyone who knows this artist realizes the value of his humble personality. He is a person who loves others and appreciates their successes.” “.
He concluded: “We pray for Fadi and ask God to be with him and relieve him and for this black cloud to pass as quickly as possible. Fadi, we are waiting for you.”
