Czech Hockey Club Rytíři Kladno Fan Club Announces Boycott Over Slovakian Goalkeeper Signing

The fan club of the Czech hockey club Rytíři Kladno announced a boycott due to the engagement of Slovakian goalkeeper Július Hudáček, who previously worked in the KHL.

Hudáček left for the KHL after the start of the war in Ukraine, before that he worked in the Czech Republic in the Sparta Prague jersey, for which he played a match against Kladno, in which funds were collected to help Ukraine.

Hudáček then played the entire 2022/23 season for Barys Astana in the KHL, in the current season he did not have a club until he agreed with Kladno at the beginning of the year. His signing caused a wave of discontent in the Czech Republic and also angered the Haldaři fan club, which announced today that the boycott was starting.

Statement of the Haldaři fan club FROM SUNDAY, DON’T COUNT ON US AT THE KLADEN TRIBUNE ❌

Have whatever opinion you want, but we as Haldař are fundamentally opposed to the signing of the player J. Hudáček and thus also the acceptance of the values of the club that this player represents.

TO US, HONOR, CONSISTENCY OF OPINION, AND A SENSE OF JUSTICE ARE MORE THAN A FEW POINTS IN THE TABLE AND MOMENTARY PERSONAL BENEFIT.

The club management, including Jaromír Jágr himself, was informed about our positions yesterday. The club has also expressed itself in some way and our views differ fundamentally in this regard. The poor and confusing media presentation of the club in this case is only a reflection of the total debacle, which leads us as a group to an unwanted boycott. None of us wanted this.

It happened somewhere it shouldn’t have happened, but sport and the club are not everything, there are more important things.

PS We will definitely return to the stand

news-item-description">Slovakian ice hockey goalkeeper Július Hudáček was already on the bench of his new club Rytíři Kladno yesterday as a number two in the match on the ice of Hradec Králové. However, his original plan was to get another job in the KHL. While Kladno captain Radek Smoleňák defends his arrival, former Czech forward and now O2 TV Sport hockey expert Jakub Koreis has a completely opposite opinion on the situation.
