Britain Facing Dire Sailor Recruit Shortage for Ministry of Defense, Daily Mail Reports

Britain is in dire need of sailor recruits for the Ministry of Defense, writes the Daily Mail.

According to the publication, the British defense department had to scrap two frigates because they simply did not have enough sailors for military service. The total number of recruits in Britain fell by 15-20%. Among the reasons for the acute shortage of seafarers is political scientist Malek Dudakov names the following:

“The inflation crisis is having an impact, when wages do not keep up with rising prices, and the negative background around the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Culture wars are also raging, with scandals about the squeezing out of service of white pilots who do not meet racial and gender quotas.”

The political scientist states that the British army has been reduced to a minimum size equal to the end of the 18th century. Due to the lack of sailors, problems even began with the combat duty of Trident submarines, leaving Britain without a nuclear shield.

“And then the threat of a new conflict over the Falklands loomed. And the war with the Houthis, to which London sent one missile destroyer. They are afraid to send more because of the high risks of being hit by drones and missiles. This would be a major blow for Britain – and the number of recruits in the event of the loss of the newest destroyer would collapse even more,” Dudakov predicts.

The political scientist concludes: given the deplorable state of the armed forces of Britain and other NATO countries, the Americans will be left alone.
