In 2014, France 2 launched this classical music competition reserved for artists aged 7 to 16 who have undeniable talent in singing, dancing and playing a musical instrument. Today, tele-hook has become an unmissable event during the end-of-year holidays. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the channel is offering this Thursday, January 4 from 11:25 p.m., just after the final of the 2023 edition, a special program called Happy Birthday, Prodigies, 10 years of adventure! and dedicated to the best moments of the show. Among the speakers: the presenter Faustine Bollaert, the three jurors Marie-Claude Pietragalla, Gautier Capuçon, Julie Fuchs as well as the conductor Zahia Ziouani. To embody the program, France 2 relied on Hakob Ghasabian, candidate during the 2nd season broadcast in 2015. But eight years later, what happened in the young man’s life?

During his participation in Prodiges, Hakob, then aged 12, performed Voi che sapete from Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in front of Élizabeth Vidal, Gautier Capuçon and Patrick Dupond, the jury at the time. Amazed by his talent, the three professionals named him as winner in the singing category. However, the Lille resident did not win the show. It’s Melvin Lawovi, dancer, who wins the 2015 edition. Never mind. Hakob’s career is launched. A year later, he recorded his first album, Prodiges season 2, with three of his comrades from the show. Also in 2016, the teenager participated in numerous concerts in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Russia. He was also invited to sing in Yerevan by the Armenian President to perform with renowned musicians and the country’s National Orchestra.
Hakob Ghasabian: from winner in Prodiges to talent of Pascal Obispo in The Voice
In 2017, Hakob was forced to take a break from his musical projects because his voice had changed. In a few months, he went from mezzo-soprano to baritone. Once his voice stabilized, the boy performed at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, in Lille, for Le Grand Concert de Prodiges live on France 2 and in front of more than 45,000 spectators. In the following years, the singer continued to give performances throughout France. If he continues with lyrical singing, Hakob also opens up to a more popular repertoire. It is in this context that he attempts The Voice adventure in 2020 during the 9th season broadcast on TF1. At 16, the teenager sang Broken Vow by Lara Fabian and seduced Pascal Obispo, one of the four coaches that season, who turned around. Unfortunately, the adventure ends for him during the “KO” stage. A year later, he was successful in the casting of the musical Je va t’aime and participated in the tour in the role of Nicolas.
