North Korea has supplied Russia with ballistic missile launchers and several ballistic missiles, according to intelligence that has now been declassified, Kirby said.
The Russians sent at least one of these missiles to Ukraine on December 30, the official said.
Several North Korean ballistic missiles were sent by the Russians to Ukraine during Tuesday night’s airstrikes, he added.
A deal between Russia and Iran on the purchase of missiles has not yet been finalized, but “the United States is concerned that Russia’s negotiations for the purchase of short-range ballistic missiles from Iran are moving forward,” Kirby said.
The Biden administration has previously stated several times that the Kremlin has remained dependent on North Korea, as well as Iran, to obtain weapons for the war against Ukraine.
