Three Israelis who were reported missing after the attack launched by Hamas on October 7 are being held hostage in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army announced today (4/1).
“Three civilians who were reported as missing until now have been identified as hostages and their families have been informed,” military spokesman Daniel Hagari said.
The announcement brings to 132 the number of people still being held hostage in Gaza since October 7, according to Israeli authorities.
The Hamas offensive in southern Israel left nearly 1,140 people dead in Israel, most of them civilians, while nearly 250 people were kidnapped and taken to Gaza, of whom about 100 were released during the ceasefire in late November.
Israel has vowed to “destroy” the Palestinian Islamist movement in retaliation and since hostilities began, 22,438 people, mostly women, teenagers and young children, have been killed in the Gaza Strip, according to the latest tally announced by Hamas today.
