New year – new local taxes and fees. In some municipalities, they raise both a building tax and a garbage fee. In others, one of the two, in others they remain unchanged, and there are also those in which they decrease, bTV informs.
There is a planned increase in both taxes in Blagoevgrad – for real estate, it jumps from 1.9 to 2.5 per thousand, and the garbage fee increases from 2.1 to 2.5 per thousand.
In Gorna Oryahovitsa, the house tax from 2 becomes 3 per thousand, respectively, the garbage fee instead of 5.2 becomes 6.2 per thousand.
In Stara Zagora, they will now pay more just for building tax – 1.7 per thousand instead of the previous 1.45.
Change, but only in the garbage fee, there are in Burgas – with nearly 30% up – from 1 to 1.3 per thousand.
There are also municipalities whose residents will pay less. Vehicle tax is reduced in Kyustendil, but only for cars of the first and second category, arguing that their number is not large, and they are driven by people with lower incomes.
There are no changes to the charges in Sofia.
How much will household spending increase?
The building tax in Gorna Oryahovitsa has increased by 50%, and the garbage tax by 20%. Thus, for an apartment of 80 square meters, its owner will now pay 90 instead of 60 BGN, and for garbage – 186 instead of 156 BGN. The difference in both cases is 30 BGN.
The local authority explained the increase with a re-signed 5-year garbage collection contract from its predecessors.
In Burgas, the garbage tax for homes is being raised for the first time in 14 years, but shockingly – by 30%. Thus, for a panel of 80 square meters in the complexes, the rate jumps from BGN 52 to BGN 67.
According to the municipal administration, the increase is justified. Although Burgas is among the cities with the most newly introduced residential buildings, the revenues from the household waste fee have not grown at the rate of growth of waste collection costs, the local authority added.
